Engine: 383 Stroker

Car dies when slowing down

I have a Holly 650 double pumper in my new engine. I just got done adjusting the timing and valves so that it runs good at idle and all the way through the power band, but when I slow down and take my foot off the gas it kills. What would be causeing this?

Axle/Gears: 3:73

Sounds like the throttle is slamming shut. i.e. closing down farther than when you set the idle. Idle it up a bit.
