Ok, i have a buddy with a 355, all forged bottom end, Dart Iron Eagle heads (unported).. We're swappign in a T56 6speed right now as well..

His only goal is that he wants 12's NA.. What kinda cams r u running, Solid? Hyd? Roller?? What will it take to hit 12's.. Also gearing..

If u could give me a rough list of your combos just to get a general idea that would be awesome!!

what other info can you give ue such as rear end gear ratio. He'll need a lot more motor if he's got a one legged 2.93 rear than a 3.73 posi.

which type of tire he is running street, DOT slick etc.

all the power in the world is no good if you can't get it to the ground.

that said... he will probably need at least .520 lift with 224-230 duration.

pops is running the same heads with the holley street dominator intake, .525" lift cam with like 280* (solid cam), 10.75:1 cr holley 750DP with a proform body, headman lt's, true duals, powerglide, 4:56 gears in a 9" with a 3100lbs. car and drag radials.

he has run as fast as 11.83 and runs consistant 12.0's.

with a decent gear and a good launch, your buddy should have no problems getting into the 12's.

Ok heres some more info..

Rear end is a stock 9 bolt with 3.24 gears, i'm tryign to talk him into some 4:11s but i dotn even know if he can get gears for the 9 bolt..

He wants to run a street tire, or maybe some Nittos or BFGs at best, he won't run slicks, he's one of these guyz that just goes out and tears up the streets.. But if he goes to the track he wants 12s..

I told him that if he went with a good size Solid cam, and port the Dart heads,Victor Jr intake with a demon carb, i think he'd have it in the bag with the stock rear end gears...

Downfalls.. He is running and SLP shortie header and a flowmaster catback (with no cats), car is lowered an inch (Pro Kit).. So, whats you opinions..

I mean i know what i'd do to make it run the numbers, imean my iroc runs 10s NA and 9s on the juice but i'm not shy about forkin' up the cash.. So i'm wondering what is the least he could do to make it runs 12s..

If your car is dialed in correctly, 320hp is enough to break into the 12's. But keep in mind most cars are either not tuned right or aren't setup to lauch 100%, so it typically takes more power to do it.
