Well i cant get the car to run anything but extremly rich and every professional that ive taken the car to had told me to get rid of that carb and throw a smaller one and it will run much better. A friend is going to buy my 750 so thatll cut the cost of a new one down another reason for the change

Everyone ive talked to has told me from there experiance there Hollys are better for performance. IM NOT TRYING TO START A FLAME WAR im sure many of u have had sucess with edelbrocks on your own setups. Also my father has 2 hollys and has always had them so it seems logical to stick with what we know

well yeah if thats what your father knows what to work on i cant blame ya for wanting to have something that is going to be easier to work on in your application ....

not wanting a flame war here either...LOL

im an edelbrock person myself, had too many problems out of holleys but thats just me i guess ive never had luck with them ...i would rather spend time driving than tuning my carb all the time...

sounds like youve got a good idea thou selling yours to absorb some of the cash your spending on the new carb....

Any particular reason for the vacuum secondary?

I know "conventional wisdom" says VS for auto tranny, DP for manual. But, the truth is you just need to keep the carb small enough so it doesn't bog when going WOT from idle - or have sufficient stall so the engine RPMs are high enough to not bog for the size of carb you have on the size of engine you have.

The typical 350 will handle a 650 DP with just 1300 RPM stall. See http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/TechSer...nfo/P225A.html

Well I was running a Q-jet but it sucked BAD so I switched to a 750 Holley on my 305 and HOLLY *** I`ll never go back to anything else, I do have a Barry Grant but the fuel bowls say holley and it`s close to the 4150 style holley, To me Holleys are the best, A friend gave it to me and it was sitting for atleast a year and then I put it on my 305 and it started right up and never had a prob other then running rich because it was to big for the 305, but after I ajusted it I never had to touch it all summer and I drove the Z28 everyday, I took the choke out and even in cooler days I never had a prob with starting it, I love my holley it was like bolting on 50hp I swear, so hands down Holley is the best.

Once again, not starting a flame war, but if your Qjet was sucking so bad, you probably would have had the same effect from switching to an edelbrock, or even a properly functioning Qjet.
