Worth it ???
Certainly

For reasons too numerous to mention, just because my hands are full at the moment.
But maybe someone else will be good enough to explain.

If you're not sure how complicated it would be, it probably isn't worth it. Get to know your car--change the oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, cap and rotor, etc. Cruise the boards here and learn as much as you can. Buy a Haynes or Chilton's manual and memorize it. Find other people who like to work on cars (and are good at it) and hang around them. It's easy to get overly anxious and get in over your head (I've done it more times than I can remember) you will end up making costly mistakes if you try to do too much at first. If this is your daily driver, I wouldn't be thinking of going carb. There are plenty of things you can do to a TBI car that will improve performance. Do those things first. If you still want more, then maybe we can talk about a carb swap!

Good luck and remember to have fun!

Where do you live?

Keep in mind, in some states, that swap isn't even legal, or at least, road legal if you have underhood inspections.

It also depends on your plans if your planning on only doing minor bolt ons then you really wont see a big gain by swapping to carb, but it you plan on doing a heads, cam, or engine swap then you should defenetly consider going carb. Hey JRoy91RS are you going to be going the winter houston meet this year? Check out the south central region boards if you havent heard about it yet. Hope to see you there.

IROC--unfortunately, I will not be able to make it. I am super busy this time of year. Besides, my car is not running right now and a couple hundred miles away. I'm going to work on her some this week since I have some time off. I hope to finally get it running right. I have struggled with this project for almost 4 years now. I wish I had some people to help me, but the car is in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, maybe I'll meet up in the spring.
