help with my carb swap

ok right now i have a tbi 305 and this winter i was planning on goin tuned port. recently ive changed my mind in favor of a carb but i what to kno what would work best for what i want to do. i want something thats good on the street but has some get up and go when i get on it. ill prolly end up keepin the 305 for the time unless i can find a 350 so id like to get parts that i could use on a 350 later on. what would you guys reccomend as far as carb and intake for what i wanna do. i have some tpi heads ported and polished with a 3 angle valve job and an lt1 cam. i did a search and i cant find anything so if you could help me it would be awsome. id like to do it with out computer control if possible

just get an edelbrock performer carb and intake. Easy to tune. You dont need a radical induction for that engine

I was asking about the same thing, the General said to get a fuel pressuer regulator, also if not using a computer controlled carb is to change the distributor to a older hei type.

Yep all you need is a vaccum advanced HEI, Mallory return style regulator, carb, intake, and other small misc. pieces. Are you trying to pass emissions? Seeing as how your going carb I doubt it, so go with the performer RPM and holley 600 double pumper since your car is a manual(lucky bastard). Also if you dont already have the Lt1 you should think of going with something a little more aggressive like the zz4 or Lt4 hot cam (with 1.5 rockers instead of the advertised 1.6 which will give you about .490 lift). The Lt1 cam isnt anything more than a mild stock cam. Good Luck.

If your cats working, and your tuned you'll pass emissions no problem. My car runs cleaner than my dads 95 mustang, or the womans 90 240sx. Both injected motors.

In most places if your car didnt originally come with a carb youll fail the visual inspection, and in most places that do inspection down where I am you need alot more than a cat to pass.
