Which Cam
Which Cam
I wasnt sure where to put this but i figured i could get some good answers here.Im doing a rebuild on a 350 and i need to know which cams would work the best.Im looking for that big choppy sound,Heres what i got so far.............its a 1975 chevy 4bolt main 350 bored .060 over and the compression will be 9.5to1 or 10to1 because of porting and shaving the heads(they are the l 26's) For an intake its an edlebrock rpm performer with a 750holley double pumper. The transmission is a 700r4 raptor with a 2600/2800 converter. And for gears they are 3:42's with posi.If i could get some good suggestions on the one that will give me the best performace id appreciate it. thanks

I'd go with something in the mid 220's with that stall, and low 500's liftwise. What did the heads flow? I would also go with a smaller carb, like the 4777 Holley which is a 650. The 750 may be a bit much on a 355 and with that intake. The plenum on the RPM is relatively small and flowing all that air through the carb isn't doing a thing. The 650 is a better match to that intake.
What exact cam would i be looking at here? Its a tappet motor also.I Had the 750 on last year with hardly anything done to the motor and it was a little much but ill take ur advise and look into it

if you get a smaller carb for it, the car will run 100% better. The 750, IMHO is way too much. I have a stock (re-jetted) 650 on my 383 and it's good enough for 476HP on an RPM intake
I can't tell you exactly which cam is best for your setup. If it was that easy everyone would be running 10's. Just remember to keep it on the mild side with that low stall. You also need to take into consideration how much compression you want to run. Some cams will bleed of cylinder pressure, decreasing the dynamic compression while others will do the opposite. What size valves are in the heads? What do they flow?

im not sure what they flow but they are 1.96/154's(not sure on the 154's)
i was trying to find a pair of 2.02/1.60's to port and shave but no luck around my small town. With the right cam what do u think the hp at the crank will be and should i be able to hit the low 12/high 11 marks?
