Will edl-7101 intake manifold work with 1991 heads?

Im trying to find the right edelbrock manifold for my camaro. Im switching to carb and was curious if the edl 7101 will work on the newer style heads?

It is made for '86-earlier bolt pattern. You can modify the center two bolt holes on each side to get it to fit.

As far as I know, they don't make an RPM intake for the '87-later bolt angles.

You elongate the intake bolt holes so the bolt will go in at the head angle. I've heard of angled washers you can put under the bolt head, but I don't know where you'd get them.

Can this be done without causing it to leak?

No particular reason to lead to leaks. You aren't messing with any sealing surfaces. If you aren't comfortable doing the job yourself, have a machine shop do it (make sure they understand what's involved without you having to explain it all). They could even face mill the holes so the bolt faces contact the manifold flat.

Granted, all of this said without having done it myself. Based on reports from this Board, primarily.

I usually go the other way but it works just fine. I usually put TBI intakes on older heads. No sealing problems here. Be sure to coat the intake bolts with a good sealer or you will have oil leaks.

Ok, well i got the intake and i have been trying to get the holes big enough to fit. I noticed that when you put the bolts on they do not lay flat against the manifold, where they are sticking up they just catch the edge of the manifold. will this cause any problems? If this doesnt make any since i will post some pictures.

That's why I said, "...a machine shop ... could even face mill the holes so the bolt faces contact the manifold flat."

But is it gonna hurt anything if they dont face the manifold flat?

Several guys have left them that way. I'm only repeating what I've heard them say here.
