carb help
I have put a rebuilt qjet on my car, i have not been able to get it to run properly. I've adjusted the idle to set it wher its supposed to be but when i shut teh car off and let ti cool and start it back up the idle is much higher than where i set it at. Like I'll set it to around 700 or so and when i start again later its at 1500, i blip the throttle and she wont come off high idle at all. Ive tried messing with the fast idle cam and when i push it down the idle drops.
As for thE choke, it seems to be opening up properly. Is it supposed to stay open all the time? I notice i have a bog as well, when im doing around 80 or so and i hit the throttle, my rpms arent increasing, theyre staying at around 2500 and wont go up and the car lags.
i know ive got a few problems here and was hoping for some ideas.

After you push the fast idle cam down, does it stay down? Check for binding linkages and shafts.

If you can push the fast idle cam down with your finger, and have the idle drop, then you're on the right track, now you just need the carb to do that when you blip the throttle. I believe the adjustment you're looking for is the choke thermostat, you can try turning it until you have a bit more tension on it.
The bog, you mean 80kms? When you mash the throttle, does the car downshift? or stay in the higher gear like it isn't supposed to?
Did you rebuild the carb yourself?
Sounds like your problems are fairly easy to fix, don't get discouraged.

Basic choke operation:
Engine cold, throttle hasn't been touched since the engine was shut off warm. The choke butterfly will be closed slightly (not quite verticle), the fast idle cam will be down (the weight part, anyway). Open the throttle slightly, the choke butterfly will snap closed and the fast idle cam weight will snap up.
Engine started, the choke pull-off will open the choke butterfly slightly, but the fast idle cam weight will stay up until the throttle is opened slightly more, then it will drop down slightly (one step).
Enging started, warming up, but the throttle hasn't been touched. Choke butterfly will continue to open very slowly, but fast idle cam weight will stay up were it was until the throttle is opened slightly.
Engine full warmed. Choke butterfly is totally open (verticle), but throttle hasn't been touched. Fast idle cam will stay up until the throttle is opened slightly, then it will drop down.
It doesn't sound to me like your choke thermostat is receiving full voltage, or the thermostat isn't adjusted/installed/operating properly. The only thing that says that isn't true is your statement that the choke is open, if indeed that is true and it is fully opened when the engine is warmed up.
