secondarys not working
i rebuilt my carb (cc q-jet)a few days ago and now my secondaries are being held shut by that vacuume diafram on the pass. side of the carb. the diafram opens when the car is off but when i start the motor, it pulls in and locks my secondaries. i cant figure out why there is so much vacuum. the car idles smooth and when i disconnect the rod that holds the secondaries shut the car bogs big time when they open. pease help

Of course it bogs when you take the link off. The choke vacuum pull-off is also supposed to hold the secondary air valve closed until vacuum drops enough to release it, which just happens to be when the engine can use the flow from the secondaries.
You can't see this happening blipping the throttle in the driveway.
Leave the link on. Everything is working the way it is supposed to work.

Not only does the choke pull off diaphram keep the sec air door closed untill ya punch it , it also has a built in restricted vacuum bleed orrifice. This orrifice is designed to make the falling vacuum bleed off slowly delaying the seconday door opening when ya punch it. Leave it alone. It is functioning properly. Without the designed air door delay the motor will bog during initial WOT transistion, This vacuum delay also prevents the air door from opening if you just wing the throttles open in neutral, hopeing to see the air door operate. Some Qjets also have a secodn vacuum break diaphram on the side of the carb. If this is not working properly the choke linkage will not function properly. Unless the choke is fully open the secondarys are locked out and will not open. All the linkage and diaphrams must be hooked up and functioning for the carb to work right.
