Problem?
Ok, so yesterday I let my brother drive my Firebird around quickly. We go around the block, stop at the store and turn it off. We get back in the car and it wont idle, it will start go to 1500RPM, then die fairly quickly. SO he decides ok, just keep revving it to get it home. OK, die, start it. die start it, die start it, die start it then he shoots out of the spot and gets to an intersection stops and the car dies again. So he figured he would shoot across the intersection to get home when the coast is clear. Well the battery died. I push it across the intersection to a block. OO, I forgot to tell you guys, it has no plates on it, its insured but not registered or inspected. I push it under a tree and we walk to my friends house. He comes and we pop the clutch on it. Well all I have to say is DAMN it is fast off the line. We both fall to the ground and the car makes it home. Once it gets home the car is idling fine again. Untill the alternator belt snaps.
So my question is anyone have an idea why it wasnt idling??
Could the alternator belt have been slipping and not charging the battery?? There for not getting enough spark to idle??

No, I am using an electric fuel pump, I was also thinking it was the fuel pump that is getting too hot, it is in a bad location.
