TPS question
Does anyone know if the TPS voltage is reading (.74-.82 (v) although it is supposed to be .48 +- .10 if that would affect the idle speed of the engine in the closed loop?

So true and I did and now I believe the last phantom I have to catch is a mechanical one on the throttle which is why I was getting inaccurate readings on the TPS. I don't have enough spring tension to idle all the way down and I don't see anything in a bind but as I stated before this was a rebuild bought at O'reilly's and installed by a non-mechanic,so I am going to try a stiffer spring if I can find one and go from there unless someone has a better plan.

The cruise control cable was the problem,so I just moved the pin to a different hole and I will start over tomorrow on trying to get the carb set. There is a glimmer of light that I might get this thing figured out and running right. Thanks for all the input. I posted this last part because no one ever mentioned the possibility which might cause all the problems I have been trying to figure out.

A quick note to all. The elation one gets after struggling to find the answers is as good as any "buzz" you can ever get. My wife and I got to go for a short drive today but it was soooo cool. This is from a guy that has been around for over half a century LOL! Thanks to all for input.
