Welcome aboard.

Your easiest choice would be a drop-base open element air cleaner.

Do you have a spacer under the carb?

Ah, I see you specified "Z28" in the original post.

One guy went with a 2" element.

I had to use a drop-base cleaner housing, sitting on top of a 1/2 inch spacer, and change to a 2 1/2 inch element to get my Performer RPM and EDL1406 to fit under my stock RS hood.

The drop base cleaner needed the spacer to clear the electric choke on the carb, which raised the whole assembly too high, thus the 2 1/2 element to bring it back down.

The Edelbrock 1221 deep flange air cleaner may work. They are built to clear the electric choke and throttle linkage.

I'm running a RPM intake and the dual snorkel air assembly on my 355, with the stock 86 Z28 hood without any issues. Not sure why you'd only have 3/4" clearance.

I had to get a new hood. I tried the 2" drop top filter, no luck. Bought a 4 inch cowl hood, gorgeous and tons of clearance
