Can someone take digital picture or scan of 1983 305 LG4 underhood emissions label??
Hi guys, I am equipping a 1983 Firebird, previously V6, with a TPI 305 retrofitted as an LG4, complete with all emissions equipment and CCC Qjet. Can someone get me a high quality digital photo, or a scan, of the underhood emissions tag from a 1983 305 4 barrel LG4 car? I am going to have the car smogged in Virginia, and when they pop the hood to check displacement and emissions equip visual I want the label with the correct displacement and routing displayed. Thanks!

Vader, that's exactly what I mean. I don't need it to say anything special, I just want the correct displacement and emissions control diagram in case an inspection station ever needs to refer to it. Is that tag for a 1983 LG4 F- car? I'm curious why the computer controlled dist. has a vac. advance line on the diagram (it calls it vac. retard). I am using a 1985+ CCC dist that does not have any vac lines on it, I wonder if I need to get the 83 one.

They don't smog in VA? Oh you're kidding me. I have never lived there before (will soon though) so I didn't know that. AAAAGH I just went to tons of hassle to get every tiny little piece of emissions equipment for a 1983 LG4/L69 because I was terrified of not passing emissions the first time. Well it will certainly look stock because it will be stock for an 83 V8 now. Thanks for the heads up.

Actually, that was a custom for a 1982 car (I just changed the date for this example). The '82 had a mechanical advance distributor with a vacuum advance added - At least this particular one did. I'll bet the inspectors down in Tennessee are still scratching their heads.

Vader, where'd you get these labels? Is there a site to download them?
I noticed there is a gm part number. Anyone ever order one from gm? Does anyone know where to get replacements?

I caught the air cleaner difference when I altered the label. If it were mine, I'd find an intact unit or manufacture a dual snorkel cleaner from a scrap air cleaner inlet with Thermac valve.
I believe the check valve was intended to hold the AIR valve in the divert position at WOT. That was later changed to go to port at WOT/open loop to reduce emissions, but I think it also overheats the exhaust unnecessarily. Obviously, the final product would match the specifics of the application. It is supposed to be a custom replacement, after all.

I agree. I added a factory Dual Snorkel to my LG4.
