Edelbrock Performer Carb
I have the 1409 Edelbrock 600cfm Performer Series carb on a 305, with a cam, long tube headers, Holley Intake.
The carb on it isn't tuned properly, and I have no idea how to work on it. I'm not much for carbs. What it does, it the car stalls out when under hard acceleration, I'm not sure if it's getting too much gas, or not enough.
The biggest problem is starting the car after I have warmed it up. I have to crank on it for about 5-10 seconds, give it a little bit of gas, and it starts.. sometimes it barely wants to run, like it's flooded.
I think the floats may be staying open and allowing fuel to puddle up in the intake while the car is off, and it causes the hard starts.
I have been thinking of switching to TBI, a guy on another board I go to said you can find them on Ebay for $150, without the fuel pump. And he said I should be able to go with an inline fuel pump, instead of putting one in the tank.
My other option was just getting an Economy series carbeurator with an electric choke, some people seem to think that since I don't have a choke, that is causing my starting problem.
What do you guys think?

mines the same way it takes a minute to start, but all you have to do is get it cranking and when it finally starts give it gas. Just as a side question do you have the choke hooked up.

Yeah, mine does the exact same thing. And it doesn't have a choke, I've been told that could be part of my problem though.
