Need carb parts
Need carb parts
After weeks of the bird running like crap decided something had to be done. Has ran like crap since I had a "mechanic" work on it. I pulled the top off the carb, it looked like someone had taken a hammer to the TPS. Went to advance and picked on up. Then I noticed the pump asembly was missing. The only thing there was the spring.
Does anyone know where I can get these parts. I dont think anyone would tear down a carb on Ebay to sell.

The pump plunger comes in a rebuild kit. The spring that goes on the plunger does not, typically.
I don't have it on this computer, but there's an outfit that sells odd parts like that. I'll try to get the link for you.

That's what I needed to get to the other computer to get.
I've never seen a carb rebuild kit that didn't include the pump plunger.

almost ANY q-jet pump will fit.
I have seen kits that come with just the rubber lip seal and the circular spring, you have to change them onto the old plunger.
just find an old carb for 10 or 20 bucks and steal the plunger, put your new seal and spring on and there ya go.

Thanks for info guys. We have had too many nice days and I'm kicking into high gear with my A/C company so I took it to a shop today. They were recommended highly. They told me the accelarator pump I got from Autobone was no good. They said the carb needs to be rebuilt ($325.) and then the carb needs to be setup for the car (included) and the timing set (35.00) and then the diag.(70.) . Considering it will have a gaureentee to work I figured it was worth it. But thanks for the fast response and the wealth of info.
