Whats the correct fuel float height for canadian lg4?
I'm rebuilding my carb for the second time since I got a wrong kit the last time, and the measurment for the float height was way off. Now of course, I forgot to bring my helms and quadrajet book, so I really need someone to look this up for me. I don't trust the info in the kit.
I'm smog checking my car tomorrow and need this to be right. Also, I will post some pics later of the insides of the carb, since I'm unsure I placed the loose pipes in there in their correct places.
carb number 17087117
Any input is greatly appreciated.

I can look this up when I get home. You have the little paper ruler that came in the rebuild kit?
That carb looks funny, is that one of the truck ones with the electronic fuel booster or whatever? It doesn't look quite like a cc-qjet, but it still has the mixture control solenoid (or the truck fuel booster thingie...)

my q-jet tuning paper article. might help you in the very near future. Along with the other 2 files at the top of that directory.

yes! That's what it's called. does that mean you can get a bigger pumpshot? Would this be a desireable thing? I thought it was just for trucks for some reason.

It's used in conjunction with a coolant temperature switch to increase the size of the pump shot while the engine is cold.

I had to make a wild guess, with the support of though by 57kid, so I set the height at 12/32 and drove it 800 miles today, worked perfectly. Didn't ever find out the right measurement though, but it's probably 11/32 or 13/32, hence the 12 as in between.
And yeah, it's not a cc carb, the car is an export version, (probably much like a canadian version) bought new here in Norway without cat, no air pump, and no cc carb. No aircondition either, but it's only really warm here 2 weeks a year anyway. And for those days I have the T tops.

11/32" = .343"
12/32"=3/8" = .375"
13/32" = .406"
hmm, yea, I think you're ok
12/32"=3/8" = .375"
