Hi guys I swapped a 305 into my previously v6 1983 Firebird. I pulled the throttle cable from an 85 carbed camaro and the TV cable as well. However I forgot to take the F body throttle bracket. Is there any difference between the F body bracket and the generic car/truck one GM used on a 4 bbl Quadrajet in anything else? I have several throttle brackets that all look identical from many different applications, the closest to an F body is from an 86 Monte 305 4 bbl. All of the brackets make the throttle cable and TV cable reach but they are on the short side. The throttle cable is under tension with the carb barely returning to idle and the TV cable adjuster is pulled just about all the way out to the max to get the TV adjusted properly. What gives? I am using a CCC Quadrajet and have everything set up as stock. I don't want to hack the brackets I have if they should be the right ones.
