New carb, new distributer?

I'm running a stock computer controlled quadrajet on my 1986 305 LG4, if i change my carburetor to an edelbrock 600cfm manual choke carb, will i have to change my distributer as well?

So the edelbrock 1405 carb is not a computer controlled carb and will not work with my factory distributor? Do they have a computer controlled carb?

No. The only computer controlled carbs are stock ones.

so than where is the computer located in my car? Is it in the distributor? The dash? Whats a good distributor to match the carb that i've chosen?

The computer itself is under the dash, above the passenger's feet.

What it takes to run it is all over - distributor, firewall, thermostat housing, carb, etc.

easiest? don't swap carbs, just fix whatevers wrong with that one, probably something minor.

Otherwise, you'd need a run of the mill HEI distributor, that edelbrock carb, and you'd have to tweak a handful of other things on the car to get everything running right.
