Stock Q-Jet CC carb advantages/disadvantages
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a stock CC Q-jet carb? Trying to see if I should think about upgrading or keeping it. It is all rebuilt and seems to be operating fine. My car will be driven but not daily.

Car: 1982 Trans-Am
Engine: 355 w/ ported 416s
Transmission: T10, hurst shifter
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73
Advantages:
-good mileage when you stay off the secondaries
-big "oomph" kick when you crack the secondaries
-cc qjet very rarely needs adjustments
-stays emissions legal
-cheap (free)
-most replacement parts at every parts store & junkyard
Disadvantages
-not shiny like a new holley
-with a standard trans, slightly less throttle response
-no bragging rights (argueable, as everybody and their dog has a holley/edelbrock, having a fast car with a stock carb is bragging rights however...)
-difficult to find replacement parts are not found in speed shops, have to go to junkyard. Debateable if this is a pro or con.
For anything that's going to be driven on the street much more then on the strip, a q-jet is a very good choice.

Thanks! I have no complaints with my Q-jet. I'll more than likely keep it.
