edlebrock 600cfm

i have a 305 with an edlebrock 600cfm set at the setting of air and fuel both at 2 turns out from closed because that is the setting the carb came with. can someone tell me what the setting should be? or a close guess. as of right now the car runs ok but a little more would help.

thats pretty close.

the best way to adjust the idle mixture would be with a vacuum gauge. allow the car to fully warm up, then adjust each screw, one at a time, until you get the highest reading on the vacuum gauge.

make sure you use manifold vacuum though, the vacuum port on the right side(drivers) facing the front.

...whats your timing look like?

basically the timing is set by my friends ear but it seems smooth . funny you ask this because that was going to be another question of mine. ..... what should the timing look to be ? ill go buy a vaccum guage and timing light. also just picked up an edlebrock performer intake so now would be the time to set it up.

Typical SBC initial advance is 8-12 with the vacuum advance disconnected.
