Holley DP

I have a Holley 650 DP that I want to put on my 383 stroker, the only problem is I looked at the manual online and it says that its not compatible with overdrive trannys. I have a th700-r4 tranny with OD? Am I treally not going to be able to use this carb or is there something I can do to run it? I got the carb for free so if I can't use it no loss to me.

i'd go bigger than a 650 on a 383, but regardless holley makes a bracket for 700R4 transmissions.

As long as you duplicate the geometry of the original throttle arm, you won't have any problems.

I have a holley bracket that is designed for exactly what your trying to do. I was trying to ebay it right now. If that doesn't sell I will send you some pics if you want and maybe you would want it.

So what cables or brackets would I need? My car is a 1984 and I want to be able to run this carb instead of something else. If someone could give me part #'s it would be greatly appreciated.

How hard is it to install these two parts? I'm guessing not that hard. But now I know what that other cable is for under my hood, I actually asked a mechanic and he didnt know what it was. but now I know its a tranny cable. So with these two parts I can use my 650 DP with no problem? I also have a Holley 750 Supercharger DP, would these brackets work with that carb too?

Holley part # 20-95 they label it as a Overdrive Trans bracket. Works like a champ for your double pumper

3 bolts install both brackets, just in case no one took the time to look at the link?

along w/ the 20-95 u need the tv valve corrector(20-121) that bolts to the throttle, like in my picture. both pieces required. 3 bolts, 10 minutes, easy.

Well i guess I have to get those two brackets. I just placed a bid on one of them on ebay(20-95) and i think I'm just going to buy the other one brand new if I cant find one somewhere.

I'm just glad I can use my DP carbs instead of buying a new one. saves me about $450. How does these brackets let me use my OD unit on my car though?

It has the provisions for hooking up your T.V. cable and your factory throttle cable.

It can be done. I have a 650 on my 383 and it works good with my 700R4 tranny. I'm going to try a 750 this spring; hopefully I will improve my 1/4 times.
