Filter and Pump
Just curious before I buy this other camaro with a l69 in it. What size K&N does the factory dual snorkel accept? And also I her that they come with electric fuel pumps, so why does it tick under the hood when you turn the key to the on position but dont fire it?

Why a K&N? It's an expensive way to let dirt into your engine.
The ticking is the mixture control solenoid in the carb. It doesn't pump fuel, it cycles to open the jets to meter the amount of fuel that is allowed into the airstream. It should have both an in-tank electric pump (it makes a huming sound, not ticking) and an engine-mounted mechanical pump.

LG4 didn't have electric pump with carb until '87. L69 apparently did all along (from what people tell me). And, some LG4's had a dealer-installed vapor lock mitigation kit installed, some reports say it included an in-tank pump, others say it didn't. My '86 donor car had such a kit, but it did not include the in-tank pump. The sticky about vapor lock bulletins does not indicate an in-tank pump was part of the kit.
For the air filter, just get a high quality one for the application (happens to be the same element for LG4 & L69). The stock filter is big enough to let in enough air, and the K&N lets in more small dirt than paper filters do.
