check engine light and new carb...
i just installed an edelbrock 600 cfm vac. secondary carb (#4106)
my check engine light comes on because of all the wires that i disconnected from my qjet, but didnt reconnect to the edelbrock. how can i "bypass" this, or fix it without just taking the bulb out.

if you just take the bulb out you will still get bad performance,
You need to replace the Distributor with a Vacume Advance one or it wont work rite.
There are other things aswell i think but others here will help out
EDIT: i just saw youre sig, Dose youre dis already have Vac Advance?

Edelbrocks don't have vacuum secondaries.
You might as well take the bulb out now, since the ECM can't do anything useful with that carb.
As mentioned, If you don't have one already you'll need a mechanical advance distributor. There's no point doing anything else with the car until you have one.

The secondary throttle blades open mechanically, but they're covered by an air valve, similar to the Qjet. In the Performer series, the air valve is controlled by counterweights. In the Thunder series it's controlled by an adjustable spring, more like the Qjet.

So wouldn't that make them a vacuum secondary? I figured the Q-jet is considered a vacuum secondary (since it's a combo of mech/vacuum, vacuum kinda overrides).
What would you call it then? Just, "edelbrock"?
