very confused

i finally got my camaro about a month ago and im in the process of modding it. the one thing that is confusing me is my engine. Its a 305 h.o, and ive done research and its telling me its a carbed engine. but when i open it up i see wires, which leads me to believe its throttle body, any ideas?
