600 vac or double pumper?

I currently have the following combo; LO3 long block with L98 cam and 1.6 RR, flowtech headers, underdrive pulleys, no cat, smog, or egr, non computer HEI, 3" exh w/flowmaster 80, performer intake, 600 vacuum secondary holley, nitrous works 125hp plate, a/c deleted, 700r4 w/2000 stall, 3.42 posi 10 bolt

would I gain or lose initial acceleration by changing to a 600 double pumper

Try it and see. That's off course you have access to one to try. Also, where is the timing set at? That can effect initial acceleration.

i went from a 600vac to 650DP, didn't really notice any differences except up top.

shooters and cam swaps would probably make a bigger difference than the carb swap itself, tip in wise.

I went from a 750 VS to a 750 DP on my zz4 crate motor. Night and day difference. The car ran much better with the DP. Smoother all thru the RPM range. I even think mileage picked up a tad. I wont ever use a VS carb again for any kind of performace application.

personally i would say a vs is more applicable in most situations than a dp, a dp is mainly used to deliver more fuel when u smack the pedal, so unless your set up can handle that u should most likely stick with the vs
