Carb or TPI?

Just want to ask a simple question.... Which would be better to have in you guys opinion?

1. a 600 -650 carb with a torker intake(have intake)?

2. or leave it tpi?

This is what i have: 350, with a .498'' lift comp cam, world class comp heads, roller rockers, headmann headers, borla street/strip exhaust. the motor was in another iroc of mine that ran 13.20's in a 1/4. with a 750 dp edlebrock carb, and an performer intake.

Last edited by RocsRose86; Aug 27, 2007 at 10:48 PM. Reason: didnt list the intake on the motor originally!

Re: Carb or TPI?

Keeping the TPI would by far be the easier and cheaper solution. The only thing a Torker should be put on is a junk pile.

why in a junk pile? That torker was on my other iroc b4 i junked it with that same motor running 13.20, I thought that was pretty good. But i am just really getting into building my own motor. anyway i like the performer series also. I just want a clean set up.

I have a ram jet, tpi and an lt1 intake and plenum. I wanted to make it look stock, but have it when i want it. I got the ramjet off the motor when i bought it from summit. the lt1 is from my old vette, and the tpi is the stock manny that was originally on this car. but i dont have any of the comps, what should i get if i go that route?

Re: Carb or TPI?

The Torker is a very old, outdated design that's surpassed in performance by pretty much any other intake, including a stock one.

Performer RPM, or RPM air gap, or whatever Weiand's current equivalent is.

A Victor wouldn't be a good choice on his engine.

Re: Carb or TPI?

Okay fellas tell me if this is ok. And which to get.

1. a edlebrock 600 cfm or a holley 600cfm for a $140 each?

2. Edlebrock performer rpm intake or a edlebrock rpg $75.00 each?

Re: Carb or TPI?

I'd take the Holley over the Edelbrock, but it would maybe depend on which Holley it is.

Where are you seeing an Edelbrock "rpg"?

Re: Carb or TPI?

I think he meant rpm I would definitely go with the holley also otherwise just find a quadrajet for about $25 and rebuild it instead of $140 for the Edelbrock
