700DP clearance problem

I have a 700DP w/ 50cc accel pump on the rear and 30cc pump on the front. I'll be bolting this to a Perf RPM Air Gap intake. My problem is the rear accel pump arm hits the intake which causes it to push on the pump about half way. I know a 1" spacer would take care of this, however I had planned on using my factory hood. Has anyone run across this problem and if so did you have any problems with clearance on the factory hood?

This would take a lot of grinding from what I can tell. I'd rather not grind on my brand new intake or my accel pump arm. Maybe I can find a 1/2" carb spacer.

Why are you using a 50cc accelerator pump? I'm not even using one on a 750, more engine, more cam, pumping E85.

Its what came with the carburetor when I bought it. I have a 750 VS that I could swap out the accel pump if need be but I figured I would try it.

Re: 700DP clearance problem

I went throught the same prob. On the DP's you cant do much about it. Instead of running a 1" spacer which requires two gaskets, i ran a 1in thick gasket. If you come up witha sol'n, let me know. Im currently trying to fab up a cowl hood, which seems to be the only solution i can think of.

Re: 700DP clearance problem

yeah it seems the classic 700DPs come with a 50cc pump on the secondarys.
but if you ask holley about it they have no idea
