Air bleed question

Has anyone ever drilled and taped there air bleeds?

I would like to use standard 6 - 32 screw in air bleeds on my speed demon. could i drill out all the air bleeds with a #36 drill bit then tap it with a 6 - 32 plug tap and then finish with a 6 - 32 bottoming tap?

If I'm reading this right, you want to switch from the air bleeds BG used to 6-32 thread bleeds.

Re: Air bleed question

i should have clarified i have a 750 speed demon they are not equipped with screw in air bleeds from the factory. The next stage up, the mighty demon, has screw in air bleeds.

correction standard air bleeds are 10 - 32 unf. Would i would need to drill with a #21 drill bit then fallow the same tapping procedure but with 10 - 32 unf taps

Anyway, you can drill, tap & screw to your heart's content. I didn't find the CHP mag article about it, but the concept applies to any carb type as long as there is sufficient meat to hold them. And, that shouldn't be a problem with the BG carbs.
