SS Ram Air and rain

I have just recieved an SS hood from Hawkes. It doesn't come as a functional piece but would not be difficult to do. The thing is, I bought it with the intention of adding an RPM Air gap, doing away with my drop base and moving to a 4" element instead of the 3". However, after cleaning up my engine bay I now have room to build up a dual cold air system with the filters mounted behind the headlights. Sticking with the standard air filter set up would be less effort but if I make the scoop functional wouldn't I need a door to keep the rain out. I have done a search on this and some posts indicated that it's not a problem. But at even 30 mph there is such a draw you gotta figure you'd be sucking in a lot of water into the engine? OK, so vanity time. How about a triple snorkel with dual cold air and air coming in through the scoop into the top of the carb (filtered) with a vacume actuated door to keep the rain out??? Jon
