fuel preasure regulator
I have a stock fuel pump on my 350 w/1406 edelbrock
it calls for 6psi max
will the stock pump put out more preasure than that and do I need a regulator

A stock in-tank electric pump will put out a whole bunch more pressure than 6 psi.
You need a regulator made with a return. The Mallory 4309 is a typical and popular choice. The $20 regulators will not work for what you need - the electric pump needs to continuously flow fuel through it to keep it cool, and the cheap regulators just stop the flow. Dead heading the in-tank electric pump will burn it out.

sorry this is on a mechanical fuel pump motor
the pump is stock

No, you don't need a regulator with an engine-mounted mechanical pump, but you do need to drop the fuel tank and remove the stock in-tank electric pump.
