What wiring don't I need after TBI to carb swap?
I've searched on this and couldn't really find what I was looking for. Now that I've had my car up and running breaking in my clutch, I want to clean up the engine bay and under the dash a bit. I still have my ecu hanging under the dash with all the wiring harnesses still connected. I'm pretty sure I don't need any of it. I re-wired my fuel pump to come on when I turn the key. How do I go about tracing the wiring and eliminating what I don't need? I have sooo many wires everywhere and I don't know what to do with them. I have a big loom on the pass. side and a big loom on the drivers side into the fenders.
Any help is appreciated

what I did with mine was, if it wasnt hooked up with anything I cut it back to the firewall. I didn't go under the dash because im still running my lights and stuff the stock wireing and i didnt want to chance messing anything up.

You don't have to cut anything. The ECM harness that connects to the kick panel bulkhead connector goes to the passenger side fender well. Take the plastic fender liner loose at the back of the fender well and you'll see the harness and connector. Anything that passes into the engine compartment can be taken out with the component attached to it.

Are you sure they just weren't bundled together, and pulling the wires out of the bundle would have prevented the need for cutting?

Yep I recall a few wires that were factory spliced into wires that ran to underneath the dash. I want to say at least one of them went to the AC compresser. I'll look tonight or this weekend and see where all they go. There weren't many but after a few hours of sorting the wires I can to cut a few to get the ECM harness out completely.

AC connection through the ECM for the radiator fan is one possibility.
But, the ones I've done (admittedly not EFI), separated cleanly. Didn't even have to unbundle the harness.

I've slept since then but I did have to solder some wires, and cut some others where they where crimp spliced. I took the entire harness out from the drivers fire wall to the ecm. I had a good shop manual and started cutting. I stretched out each end of the harness off the ground and started pulling out what I didn't need. For me the manual was a must. Thread
