You'll know when you fire it up. It may be fine, it may need some tweaking.

Which manifold do you have? What cam, exhaust are you running?

its the performer dual plane... voodoo cam .468/.489 its on summit (60102lk). hooker headers, single in dual out flowmaster. what would need tweaking? just those two screws in the front of it? thanks.

Maybe idle mixture, rods, jets, or step up springs.

The spacer can change the "signal" various carb calibration items see.

In case you haven't seen this:

Re: carb spacer adjustments?
that manual will probably help...I thought the owner told me it was a 650, but that isnt showing up anywhere. is there a place on the carb where i can identify exactly what it is? I have never done any carb work either, how difficult are these to work on? Also where would I begin to decide what i need to adjust??

There is a 650 CFM in the Thunder AVS series. http://static.summitracing.com/globa...0518061812.pdf , see page 2 for the p/n location.

Re: carb spacer adjustments?
alright i will do that, so do you think this kind of thing would be practical for a beginner to do? it kind of seems like it takes quite a bit of experience to be able to know what to change.

I guess I don't understand why you're doing the spacer.

Going through the manual-described tuning would be a good learning process.

Re: carb spacer adjustments?
i decided on a spacer because i thought it would be cool to see if it actually made a difference, because it is pretty simple to make, and because i needed to make something for my class. I really couldnt think of anything better. yes, it would be cool to get that experience. i want to learn how to do it sometime.
