Car: 85 transam

Engine: 76 chevy 350 carb

Transmission: t-5 3.23

is this supposed to happen?

when i start my car it idles at about 700rpms but after i run it for a while and the car warms up it will idle at 1000-1200rpms and i wasnt sure if this is supposed to happen or not. any causes about why this happens?
