TPI to Carb swap?
Hey guys i kno, heres another tpi to carb swap thread but i just need some more specific help..I did a general rebuild on my 1991 350 tpi, medium street comp cam, block honed, crank ground & matched, upgraded rods roller rockers and rings all that stuff, stall converter, but just am not having any luck with it. Now i finally want to totally strip it down and go carb, i really want to go with a tunnel ram set up on it and want to get a good combo that will give me some good power..i also want to run it non cc with a nice msd or something, any help in goin about all this would be great, thanks guys!!

get a good edelbrock performer rpm air gap intake, stay away from a tunnel ram unless u are a drag car, they are for high rpm only they will kill your street performance....

Haha thanks for the help, nah im just gutting it all out and putting a nice engine in there, just any help u can as far as heads and carb combo. I was thinking a edelbrock rpm air gap intake with a holley 600cfm carb and the mallory 3 port afpr, what heads would u think would work the best with that app with a medium street/strip comp cam?

Heads & intake:

Carb:
I'd go at least a 650 CFM Holley double pumper.
Torque converter:
You'll need more than stock stall if you go with a bigger cam. 2500-3000 most likely for a typical street/strip combo.
Don't forget you'll need to get a geometry corrector bracket for the carb throttle arm, and provide some means to lock up the torque converter clutch.

Ok 650 cfm..check, and yeah i installed a 2400 stall torque converter, should i go any bigger? And also with my stock 350 heads, what would u recommend like a port job and keep the stock heads, or get new ones with a bigger cc, thinking like the chevy vortec heads?

No. You need the mechanical and vacuum advance mechanisms, unless you get the programmable MSD box.
