Electric choke wiring

Im in the process of finishing up my motor swap in my car. I need to wire in the electric choke. But what can I tap into. The carb is a holley, the manual said to tap into the wiper motors power. I know it needs to be switched 12v and taping into the wiper motor would be easy but what wire can I use. The car is an 89 and was origionally TBI. I cut all the uneeded wires out of the harness also. What has everyone else used?

Re: Electric choke wiring

i did the same swap. i used one of the switched wires that ran up on top of the motor. works for me. i don't know about the wiper motor. mine was right there. where did you cut the wires? at the main plug or up on top of the motor?

I cut them back to the main plug for the ECM. I had the harness out of the car when i did it.

ok. i ran my wires and then cut back. you could run a wire to the switch power. of i can check my car to see if there is a switch power on the wiper motor.

Re: Electric choke wiring

I looked at the wiring diagrams but couldnt pick out which wire was power for the wiper motor. I figure that would prolly be the easiest or atleast closest power wire. The length that holley gives is just right to run to the wiper motor.
