need help. carb ignorant
Hi guys first off, i know nothing about carbs or buying aftermarket performance parts as i have only worked on stock fuel injected cars. i have spent hours reading through this incredible message board but im still kind of confused.
The problem is i have a vortec 350 that i pulled out of a 99 suburban. im planning on rebuilding the motor and putting a lt1 cam in it. i also plan on switching it to carb so that i can drop it into my 94 chevy truck that was originally tbi (i thought about keeping tbi, but i dont like the idea of have to buy chips or messing with the pcm). I need a recomendation for a good intake and carb setup. My goal is to end up with a street truck that is capable of being driven daily. I also want to go the cheapest route.
Thanks in advance.
P.s. my truck has the stock 4l60 tranny

I don't know for sure what you'll have to do for the tranny. It's a 4L60E, which means shifts are controlled by the PCM. I believe you'll have to do an aftermarket stand-alone controller - many $$$'s.
The TBI should handle the upgrades you're talking about without trouble. My brother put what was basically a rebuilt L98 & headers in his '95 truck, it's doing fine.
