Went to carb, tach question
So, I swapped out my TBI 305 for a carbed 350. Im using an HEI distributor thats vac advance. I got the proper ends to allow me to connect the battery and tach wires to the cap. I got the car started tonight but I have no tach. It doesnt move with the car running. I checked the connection at the cap and its good as well as the splice I made for the connector. Anyone have this problem. What can I do

Verify you got the proper wire off of the original coil. White, I believe.

Fixed it, there was a connector. It might be an inline fuse on the white wire. For some reason the HEI wasnt sending the signal through it. I cut that out now I have the tach back.

Ill grab you a pic today. Your going to want to look for a pink wire and a white wire. Pink goes to BAT and white goes to TACH on the HEI.

Re: Went to carb, tach question
I found a plug that went to the coil i belive. It has two blades inside the plastic plug housing the wires coming out of it are Pink and White. Do I just connect the white wire to the TACH plug on my HEI and connect the Pink wire to to the BATT plug on my HEI. Car was a TPI 5.0 now carbed HEI 350.
