ho compared to lg4

Hi,
Have made the following mods to my lg4: mild cam, dual snorkle setup, l69 manifolds (the best castings) 3" exhaust, high flow cat.
Now what about the carb? Can I easily modify it to resemble the l69 carb, or would it be better to find a good l69 carb? And what about the computer? Will I be able to use a l69 chip with my lg4 ecm?

Hasse

This from five7kid: "The carbs are basically the same but tuned differently. The LG4 had a cast-in "tab" that kept the AV from opening fully (on some LG4's, not all - mine wasn't). The primary jets and secondary rods/hanger were typically different L69 to LG4.

Both carbs have the same capability, basically."

I did the AV tension mod and swapped out the stock rods and hangers for the L69. I didn't have the tab that five7 comments on either.

What year ECM? I forget the exact cut-off, but I believe the earlier ones need a different ECM.

And I could be all wet. . .

It should work, but I'm sketchy on the details.

Re: ho compared to lg4

Regarding the carb, I think Ill change the secondary rods/hanger. Doesnt seem too difficult but I guess I will have to be careful.... I have read different recommendations, but most often DR or CK rods. Will any of these work well with CCC and what hangers should I try?

The swap of rods and hangers is very simple, ten or fifteen minutes tops. Try either of the rods you mention with B or G hangers (I liked the DR rods with the G hanger).
