electric pump and return line ?'s

im going to be putting a external electric fuel pump on my car, and i want to use a return style system. Im using a fuel log on my carb and i would like to use one side as the inlet and the other side of the log as the return.

Will this work? i have little experience with return lines and want to make sure i wont have pressure issues. Im using a non return style regulator.

I would run a return style regulator, but with the layout that i have in mind, i dont have the room for the extra return fitting.

thanks

That's kind of the old-school way to do it, with a restriction at the end of the fuel log so that you're not just pumping all the fuel straight back to the tank. It doesn't work all that well though.

If you used a relief valve instead of a regulator or needle valve, it should work.

Haven't seen it done, though.
