quick questions
i just finished swapping my TPI to a carb setup and i have a few issues that im not sure where to start. first every time i start the car up i gotta give it some gas to keep it started, after about a minute or so it warms up and i can drive it normally. not sure whats wrong there. also ii noticed that my fuel pressure on the gauge only shows like 4 at any givven time, weather i rev it or keep it at idle? any ideas there. i tried to adjust the regulator and it dosnt move. and i have had the screw out completly LOL. the carb i have is a holley 750 with vac secondaries and the choke removed( prior to me getting it ) any help will be appreciated.

Re: quick questions
the reason you have to keep giving it gas is because that's what the choke is supposed to do it makes it idle around 2000 rpm until the engine is warmed up enough to run normally

Re: quick questions
not an experienced board member, but I know Orilley's has one cause when i called up there to get an electric choke and then went to pick it up, they gave me the choke kit...
just to let you know. never did get the electic choke, have mine wired all the way open and that is exactly what i have to do on mine, some prefer electric, i prefer a manual choke cause come winter you need it on longer, and summer time you don't need your motor to idle that freakin high for that long.... that's why i like the manual, plus you can get that half choke to work at stop lights to really get your motor to sound weak (honda's love hearing weak motors... LOL)

Re: quick questions
since the 1985 camaro didn't have a 350 5.7L available, i always revert back to the 1976 ElCamino with the 5.7L 4BBL Carb. works every time for me. I have a Holley 750DP. Below is AutoZone's website and start search for you to go over. Hope it helps out a little bit...

If only the choke thermostat was removed, you can get that from Summit, Jegs, etc.
If all of the choke mechanism, butterfly, etc., was removed, it would be best to look on craigslist, racingjunk, eBay, etc.

If you ask for a choke for a '76 El Camino, you're going to get a quadrajet choke. You don't want that. You want a Holley choke.

Re: quick questions

Re: quick questions
You're missing the butterfly, etc. The choke kit from Summit ($50) won't have everything you need. Maybe a call to carb's unlimited or one of the other specialty carb places is in order.
