space problems
well this weekend i painted my 88 camaro and was so proud one step closer to driving my toy until today when i tried to shut my hood and it wouldnt shut my problem is my built 350 has the air gap manifold with a holley 650 electric choke and there isnt enoug room for a standard air cleaner to sit on top so i tried the edelbrock triangle style still no room so i was told to try a 2or 2 1/2 drop base for the carb and a larger diameter air cleaner for more breathing before i buy order online and put it on is there any other suggestions to go foreward without getting a cowl hood i like my z-28 hood and just bought new louvers for it so if anyone has any suggestions to make this work please email me thanks i am ready to start driving my z thanks tom

You need a drop-base air cleaner. 1-1/2" or so is typically enough.

Re: space problems
I have read about people having success, here on TGO, with the RPM air-gap and a 1.5" drop base air cleaner. You don't have a carb spacer or air cleaner spacer, do you? Thread
