CCC carb tools and MC solenoid plugs
CCC carb tools and MC solenoid plugs
I was suprised to see this board doesn't have a for sale/parts wanted section so I guess I'll ask here ( hope I'm not violating any forum rules by asking );
I need the tool that's used to adjust the TPS. I'm also interested in any other tools associated with rebuilding and tuning a CCC carb. If anybody has any of these tools to sell, please PM me. Thanks.
Also, do you have to re-install the rich and lean stop plugs after you make adjustments? I've heard you do but don't understand why. My rich stop plug is gone and I'd like to know if I need to get a new one ( and where exactly does one get a rich stop plug? ).
P.S. I know some of these tools are still available but they are pretty expensive and ebay has been no help either.

Re: CCC carb tools and MC solenoid plugs
In lieu of the TPS adjustment tool, I've always used an appropriately sized roll-pin lightly tapped over the adjustment screw. The flexible driver used to set the idle mixture screws can be had at AZ or one of the others for around $8-10.
I always try to set the lean stop (MCS hold down screw) to the same number of turns out that it was prior to disassembly. When I've not been able to determine what that was I've set it to 3-1/2. I've taken a dozen or so apart and don't recall any being more than 4 turns out or less than 3. There is however a tool, or guage, that accurately sets this distance. A member here fashioned one out of some stock some time back.
I've always set the rich stop by placing the air horn on top (with gasket but without the TPS/Booster) temporarily to measure the travel, then removing it to turn the rich stop in the airhorn. It usually requires little or no adjustment when the lean stop is replaced to original number of turns out.
Replacement plugs will be in any rebuild kit. They should be re-installed to prevent dirt from entering. If you need a set and don't want to shell out $20 for a rebuild kit, let me know. I'm sure I have some around as the last few carbs I've rebuilt didn't require them to be removed.

Re: CCC carb tools and MC solenoid plugs
I just talked to a friend and he may be able to hook me up with a plug.
I will try a roll pin and see if that works too.
I think my carbs enough out of whack ( former rebuild ) I should take it apart and set everything to factory specs and tweak from there.
