Edelbrock V Holley

So here is the question....witch one is better for solid hassle free driving on say a 350 engine with auto trans and a mild cam??

having dealt with both, i'll never buy an edelbrock carb again. Never did get it to work quite right.

I've run both Edelbrock and Holley Street Avenger carbs and have no complaints. If you do get more interested in performance upgrades and need to tune the carb, the Holley is the way to go in my opinion. As far as just bolting it on out of the box and being done with it, I've never had any problem making an Edelbrock work straight out of the box, pretty much always been bolt it on, set the idle, and go.

I've only had one carb (Holley) because my Dad told me that the only thing Edelbrock carbs were good for is jamming under the front tire of a car to keep it from rolling down a hill.

My Holley works AWESOME so far. Fired right up out of the box and really only needed to adjust the idle mixture screws.

I'm no carb expert - but I bolted my Edelbrock on 3 years ago, started it right out of the box, adjusted idle, and haven't had to touch it since. Car starts everytime, runs like it should every minute, all day and night.

hi, same here,,,i bought a 1405 brand new with electric choke, i didn't have a choke on my holley(last carb),,,i bolted the edelbrock right on and adjusted the idle and minor adjustments and it runs great and it starts every time and the choke works like a charm,,,i think for the money , you can't get a better carb....

I have been leaning on edelbrock as I have had good luck with them. I have never had a holley.

hi , i have had holleys for the longest time, i find on a car that's not used often like mine is ,,holleys become fussy...my edelbrock and my car are probably used once amonth if i'm lucky ,,it starts and runs always the same with an electric choke now ...i think for the money they are good,,,but like you see some people hate them ,,it's up to you,

Neither. The stock computer controlled quadrajet can't be beat for solid hassle free driving on a 350 with auto transmission and mild cam.

The 305 in the car now has a Q-jet but is running like crap at WOT no power at all. I have tried a few things to fix it with no success. Ig you let of the gas just a tad it runs like a champ.. IDK!!

Sounds like you have a secondary problem, which should be fairly simple and certainly less expense to fix than going backwards in technology.
