I'm wanting to put a better cam in my 88 camaro it's got an 89 l98 from a formula firebird stock heads (lt4 valve springs), 750 edelbrock, performer intake, th350 (should be tci 700r soon, cant remember exactly what the stall is) shorty headmans, 3.73's.

This car is my dd and I don't want to go too wild. Just want a little more power. I used the search and seen that alot of people were going with the zz4 cam would this be a good choice? Also if possible how much hp would the suggested combo produce?

looks like it should make around 300-350hp, mostly low speed torque. those L98 heads don't flow well enough to make much more power. should pull pretty hard through first gear.

 

Well I'm not set on the zz4 I'm open to any cam that would work well in a daily driven car. I'm open to any suggestions.

 

in my s10 im using the summit 1102 hydraulic flat tappet. makes good power and its very inexpensive.
