Ok, so i had and 350 engine rebuilt "bored over and i am running all Edelbrock Performer RPM "including aluminum heads.... And idk if its because of a long day or what... but these heads have water ports at both ends... and i have noticed that most intakes have 1 at the end and 1 in the middle.... Im really confused because the perormer RPM intake i looked at has 1 in the middle and at the end??? shouldnt this intake match my heads exactly with haveing both the water ports at the ends of the heads??? If anyone can help any imput would be awsome and... THANKS....

 

The port in the middle is for the exhaust crossover. Only the water ports in the intake at the front matter.

 

So if only one of the ports on my intake match up with the head it will be ok?? What is the port in the back side of the block for then? Is that another Water port... and my heads just dont have the middle exhaust port?

 

The port in the back of the head is there because the heads are identical from left to right. Performance heads often don't have the exhaust crossover port.

The water ports in the back of the manifold and heads can be used. I ran lines from the back of the intake to the front. It help get the hot coolant at the back of the motor out faster so you dont get a hot spot there. It helped me out.
