... 'til my eyes are glazed, I still have a coupla' ?'s about a TPI to carb swap.

I know I need to keep the ECM so my speedo will work. By doing so, will this also keep the signal needed to keep the cruise control operable?

Will I need to keep any engine sensors, (ie MAP sensor as vacuum and/or temp sensor as eng. temp is involved in T/C lock/unlock...temp sensor for fan(s)... A/C "on" for fans)?

well ... ummm... you may have to get a custom tune if you don't go with an electronic carb... however, I have no idea on any of it... why would you want to downgrade though? properly tuned TPI will give you good performance and good gas mileage...

I want to switch so I can tune it. See, us old bastards want to tune with a timing light and a screwdriver, not a laptop.

lol.. I hear ya' ... well if you are gonna go with a non electric carb, then might as well ditch the ECM... this includes all of the emissions crap... you will have to get a TCC switch installed, not sure how this is done... the speedo, you will most likely get some type of module that will convert the signal so your speedo can read it... the distributor if it's not vacuum advance will also have to go ... the fuel pump you can still run it I believe, but you will have to get a FPR that is made for TPI to Carb conversion or at least one that has already been proven as being suitable for the swap, otherwise you will have to drop the tank and remove it... cant' think of anything else... btw, you don't need emissions to get a tag, do you?
