Blow thru carb needed, CSU or The Carb Shop?
Which is better? I am having a 383 built that will be fed by an F1 Procharger. This setup should easily make around 700 HP. I need a blow thru carb. I called the carb shop and they claim that if you have them tune your carb and do all the propper mods, once they ship it back to you, you will not have to touch it in terms of tune. I even asked "what happens if it is not spot on?" and the guy said, "that has never happened".
Also SUPER CHEVY has used the carb shop for a few of their builds and they always say that they just bolt it on and BAM it is perfect. I just want to know if these CSU guys are any better.
Carb Shop offeres to mod my current 750 DP for $450. You can also buy one outright for $850.
CSU offers to sell a pre tuned for $925
Thanks for any advice.

From what i have read on theturboforums there have been some bad experiences with the carb shop. On the other hand a lot of people over there are high on CSU.

So you are saying CSU. I will call them up today on my lunch break and see what they have to say.
Was really hoping for a stronger response but looks like blow thru supercharging is not too popular amongst us third genners.
I didn't really want to have to go sifting thru the turbo forums, but looks like I might have to.

The forced induction section over at www.ls1tech.com also has a lot of good info.

I checked LS1tech and they have people specifically posting there that asking questions about blow thru carb setups there is a bad idea since everyone there is running F.I.
I will keep searching.

Just go CSU or maybe C&S specialties. I've heard good things on both of these.

I will call them today and see what they say. I have called The Carb Shop in the past and they seem great as well. They guarontee that their pre-tunned blow thru will work perfect out of the box.

all I know is that I had a holley 750, and it was giving me problems. I got a csu carb, bolted it on and it runs like a champ. no tuning needed, just the idle. plus it looks so sexy under the hood.

Re: Blow thru carb needed, CSU or The Carb Shop?
Good to hear. Was it a blow thru setup?
I am torn due to CSU and the carb shop both claiming that they can build a carb for a blow thru setup and have it work, NO TUNNING, out of the box.
I asked the carb shop what happens if it doesn't and they said it has never happened, but if it did, I would have to ship it back and they would adjust the tune.
I still need to call CSU to see what they claim if it doesn't work as intended.
Both are around $425 to retrofit a current holley for blow thru.

I'm getting ready to send a 750 to C&S for modification myself. I probably should call them first to see what they have to say about price and so forth.

Re: Blow thru carb needed, CSU or The Carb Shop?
Great to hear. Do any of these places offer a guarantee on the tune/work?
Thats really what I am looking for. I want to make a sure as I can that in the event that they are wrong and tune it like crap I am not out $$$ for something that didn't work.
I am being overly cautios, but that is how I usually do things
