I still would like to be able to install ac later on, but I'm afraid of hacking the wiring...
is there a replacement wiring harness from some other camaro that will work??
thanks

If it's carbed now, then most of the wiring from the pass side harness can come out - that's all the computer wiring - but for now until you verify that everything works, just tuck it all in the fenderwell. There will be a few wires that come from pass side harness and run through main harness to driver side maybe - like fuel pump relay wiring, wiring for ESC (spark control), maybe fan relay wiring.
You'll want to keep all driver side wiring, it should all get used.

The wires go through a plastic box on the inside of your fender. Unless you want to stick a plate there so there is not a big hole for water to splash into your car, I would just cut the wires from either side and leave the box. It will be a little bit ugly, but unless youre driving around without interior kick panels or fender wells, it will never be seen.

You should remove the harness in tact - like mentioned it connects in the pass wheel well, and the ECM is in the pass side under the dash/kick panel. The TPI harness is desireable by alot of folks, and can be sold if left in tact. Like I mentioned, there's a couple wires that run to the driver side that you might have to cut (if you don't have the time/patience to dig them out of the loom). Otherwise, the more 'in tact' you leave it, the better price it'll fetch.

Re: Swapped in a 408 what wires can I take out....
Ok update....
I have the car almost complete with an exception of exhaust from the cats to the rear.
I installed a electric fuel pump and removed the old one.
I also removed the tpi wiring harness and it wasn't as hard as I was thinking I didn't have to cut any wires
(I will sell the entire setup for $300 includes the ecu which I don't know the condition but it says its remanufactered)
I am a little frustrated because the performance seems not as good as it was in the donor car which was 5200 lbs
I think it could be due to the wires or plugs so I plan on changing them...
I don't know what cam I have, but it is really lumpy
Timing should be set near 13 btc?
Also I have a new problem:
After driving my ride for 15 minutes or so starts to die like its running out of gas, if I turn it off for a minute it will restart after priming the pump!
I thought the pump was bad so I changed it...with the same results!
Could it be the carb?
That guy helping istalled the dist. 180 backwards so it did backfire a couple of times until I figured it out!
Let me know what you think! I will be buying a accel coil and new plugs tommorrow for it!
thanks!

Fuel lines where getting clogged due to rust in the metal lines/tank....carb is junk!
