intake/carb combo

whats the best intake/carb combo for a 305 or 350 not really going for performance or anything but wouldn't mind the hp gain but i just wanna dress the engine up a little

not on a big budget i actually don't know much about the intake and carb as far as the role they play lol im a NOOB on this engine thing advice would be greatly appreciated

Stock intake. Stock carb. If you're hell bent on removing the CCC system, then get a non electronic Q-jet.

You won't get any performance gain out of that. If that's what your purpose is, you're barking up the wrong tree. You get "performance gains" by upgrading whatever the most restrictive thing about the car is; the ONE THING most responsible for making it slow, so to speak. In the case of that car, the carb & intake ain't it. In fact most of the time the car will GO SLOWER than the stock stuff in properly working condition.

Keep your money in your pocket. Save it up for an exhaust system, a cam, a set of gears, and a torque converter. THOSE are the things making your car slow right now. You've got a long way to go on other things before the carb & intake are left as THE restriction; therefore any money you spend on them now, DELAYS reaching your goal of making the car faster.

he said hes not looking for performance gain i believe he just wants the engine to look a little cleaner rather then that dusty rusty look lol...cant he just clean up the intake and carb?
