Carb fire! Help!

Ok so my carb was dumping fuel
Out of the vents, causing me to believe the floats where stuck. Now since I took it apart and put it back on, I can't get it to run, it just shoots out fire. What should I do? I didn't adjust timing of anything, is it an ignition problem? Or did I mess up the carburetor? It's an edelbrock 650, fed by a mechanical pump.

"Shooting out fire" is one of two things: 1) extremely lean; or 2) distributor in 180 degrees off.
